Irizar i8 Integral is a first-time flagship for Howard Snaith
It took a visit to the factory in Spain to get Northumberland coach operator Howard Snaith to take the plunge into Irizar ownership, but the vehicle he chose: a fabulous tri-axle i8 Integral; has become the 35-strong private-hire fleet’s flagship.
The 14.07-metre coach, which arrived Howard Snaith’s Otterburn premises in May, features a DAF MX-13 375 powerplant.
As delivered, the coach had 56 seats, but after three months in service has been reconfigured by AD Coach Systems of Stoke-on-Trent with the addition of a rear-mounted kitchen, and a reduction in seating capacity to 40 with additional tables. Factory-fitted equipment includes toilet, overhead aircraft-style luggage lockers, and leather seats with lateral displacement, USB charging points, magazine holders, seat-back tables, magazine holders and footrests. Safety features include three-point seat belts and active cruise control.
Howard Snaith says: “It’s our first coach with a modern DAF engine and we are very happy with its performance.
“The addition of the kitchen and other improvements cements the Irizar’s position as our flagship coach for corporate work including sports teams and hospitality.”
Howard Snaith will maintain the vehicle in its own workshops.
“It’s an easy vehicle to work on,” Howard Snaith reports.
