Baileys says Irizars are the cream of coaching

Berkshire-based Baileys Coaches were so impressed with the i4 Integral they bought in 2015 from Irizar UK, they have invested in two more Irizar UK products.

This time, Baileys has opted for another 70-seat i4, chiefly for its work with private schools, and a 57-seat i6 Integral which will share school duties with the i4 coaches but also be available for private hire and for its groups, who regularly book tours with the Thatcham company.

The 12.9-metre i4, like its older sister, has Baileys’ favoured Ecolife fully automatic gearbox, and is equipped with CCTV, an audio system, additional marker lights and, of course, three-point seatbelts. The i6 Integral has a toilet, DVD system, reversing horn and camera and is also a fully-automatic, with ZF’s Ecolife gearbox.

“The first i4 has performed very well for us, and got great driver and customer feedback, so another one was a natural choice,” said Darren Gale. His wife and fellow director, Emma, added: “The i6 offers us flexibility for extended tours, though will also be used for our schools work.”

The Gales bought Baileys 20 years ago, after Darren had left his career in the Royal Navy as an engineer. Together with Emma, he runs a fleet of 18 vehicles.
