i6 delivers Peake performance

Pontypool operator Peakes Coaches admits to being wedded to i6 coaches for their kerb appeal, and is now getting great service from its latest DAF-powered Integral.

The 12.9-metre two-axle coach with 57 seats joins six other i6s; Peakes has now bought three i6 Integrals from Irizar UK : “We have now moved over to DAF to take advantage of the superior levels of service available at Irizar UK,” said Director Josh Peake.

Josh singled out the availability of three mobile service technicians at Irizar UK, in addition to the iService on-line portal – which offers operators access to the ‘DNA’ of individual coaches – and the eShop service which allows direct ordering of vehicle-specific parts.

The new i6 Integral has DAF’s award-winning MX11 engine in its most powerful, 435bhp version, and the ZF AS-Tronic auto-shift gearbox. Peakes has opted for seatback tables, a drinks machine, toilet, two-monitor media system and reversing camera.

Peakes runs 27 vehicles, eight of which are front-line tourers. The coach will be used on a range of work, including its own, small tour programme, ski work and private hire.
