Edinburgh Coach Lines, owned by the Eirebus Group has just taken delivery of two new coaches from Irizar UK. The tri-axle coaches are of the Irizar Integral i6S Efficient variant and will be in operation on the Leger Shearings holiday tours programme.
Sinéad Kavanagh, Managing Director for Eirebus Group, comments, “We are delighted to take timely delivery of two vehicles from Irizar UK to operate on Silver Service for Leger Shearings Group. We are very pleased with the vehicles and with the professional service from Irizar UK and we look forward to continuing our working relationship into the future.”
At 14metres in length, the two coaches seat up to 42 passengers on comfortable i6 Plus padded seats. Each passenger benefits from a magazine holder, seat-back table and multi-position footrest for comfort and convenience. USB charging points are supplied to each pair of seats.
Other passenger amenities include an onboard toilet with an electric hand dryer located in the central stairwell and a sumptuous rear lounge area featuring four captain-style chairs.
In addition to the Bosch Smart Series audio-visual system and monitors located throughout the saloon, passengers can also use the Azimit On Demand media system for entertainment on the move. This system allows the user to choose from a wide range of entertainment content; books, movies, games, and music, to watch via an App on their device. A benefit to the operator is that the App can be used for onboard information, marketing, customer satisfaction surveys, and more.
The coaches have been fitted with an onboard vacuum system to keep the interior immaculate whilst in use and the leather multi-function steering wheel provides a touch of class for the driver.
Black-tint windows and silver metallic paint featuring the familiar Leger Shearings Silver Service livery further enhance the eye-catching appearance of the i6S Efficient.
Edinburgh Coach Lines has specified PSVAR preparation and with this future-proofing in place, the residual value of the coaches will be protected.
The new coaches feature DAF’s powerful 11-litre coach engine, the MX-11 330, with an output of 449hp and drives through ZF’s Traxon 12-speed automated gearbox.
Edinburgh Coach Lines have been in operation for over 45 years, and were acquired by Eirebus Group of Dublin in 1995. The fleet comprises of over 35 vehicles, ranging from 49 to 53 seats and undertakes a variety of work including corporate, school and university and private hire in addition to operating tours on behalf of the Leger Shearings Group.
