South East Coaches returns to Irizar (UK) for its second new coach
Six months after acquiring its first-ever new coach, South East Coaches of Wickford, Essex, has returned to Irizar (UK) for another: this time a 12.9-metre i6 Integral.
Owner/director Graeme Farrington said: “It was the quality of the first vehicle and the back-up from Irizar (UK) that took me back to Irizar.
“I know from my experience with the first one, that Irizar’s kerb appeal is second-to-none. Passengers are amazed by it when they board it. And I’ve been delighted to find that Irizar (UK)’s reputation for sales and service support is completely justified.
“Once again, we have had excellent advice and service from Mike Austin at Crystal Business Finance, which is Irizar (UK)’s recommended finance provider.
“Irizar (UK) was also very helpful with selling on the older coach which the new i6 Integral has replaced.
“The rise of local low emissions zones in London and elsewhere is now making Euro 6 coaches essential.”
South East Coaches’ new two-axle i6 Integral has 57 seats and a centre toilet.
Bosch audio and twin-monitor Actia video provide passenger entertainment, and there is also a drinks machine. Seat-back tables are installed and three-point seat belts fitted.
There are tinted windows and the coach is protected by anti-chip vinyl.
An economical DAF MX-11 271 370 hp engine drives through a sophisticated ZF EcoLife automatic transmission. Maintenance is carried out by a third-party provider.
The coach will work on day-to-day private hires, including rail replacement services, and will also provide back-up for the company’s first Irizar Integral: an i6S delivered last May; which is contracted to David Urquhart Travel.
Graeme said that he anticipated keeping the coach for at least seven years.
“It really is a superb quality product,” he said.
