West Coast Motors of Argyll has taken delivery of six tri-axle Irizar Integral i6S Efficient coaches for use on Scottish Citylink routes.

Propelled by an efficient DAF MX11 300kw, OBD-E euro 6 engine, with an output of 408hp, coupled to ZF’s Ecolife Coachline 6-speed fully automatic gearbox, the vehicles are equipped with lane departure warning and advanced emergency braking systems.

The coaches, developed with West Coach Motors, are the first standard height (3.5m) tri-axle integrals supplied in the UK.  Each coach is fully PSVAR compliant and features a Masat KS7 Semi-automatic wheelchair lift in the luggage compartment and destination signage supplied by Hanover. Accessibility is further enhanced with the addition of Hanover’s visual next-stop announcement system.

Onboard, the 57 passengers can benefit from USB charging points, seat-back tables, and multi-position footrests throughout the vehicle along with a rear saloon toilet fitted with an electric hand-dryer.

The Irizar Integral i6S Efficient is built with a digital mirror camera system as standard which provides the benefits of enhanced aerodynamic performance along with improving the driver’s direct and indirect field of vision.

“We are pleased to be working once again with Irizar. The team continue to lead the way in developing cutting-edge technology and innovative design, and we are delighted to welcome the six new, high-spec vehicles to our fleet.

“We are confident our customers will enjoy the many on-board facilities designed to make transport simple, greener and comfortable.”
