Carnforth-based family-run operator, The Travellers Choice has taken delivery of six new Irizar Integral coaches as part of its annual investment in the company’s fleet of vehicles.
All six Irizar Integral coaches are i6 models, with three vehicles being tri-axle and three being twin-axle variants.
The 14-metre, 57-seat coaches are propelled by DAFs smoothly efficient MX11 330kw, OBD-E euro 6 engine, with an output of 449hp, coupled to, and further enhancing the quality of the ride, ZF’s Ecolife Coachline 6-speed fully automatic gearbox.
While the 12.9-metre, 53-seat vehicles are powered by a DAF MX11 270kw, OBD-E euro 6 engine, with an output of 367hp, again, with ZF’s Ecolife Coachline enhancing the driveline
All vehicles are compliant with PSVAR standards, featuring destination signage provided by Hanover Displays and a Masat lift, which is located in the luggage compartment on the 12.9-metre coaches and above the rear axle, therefore maximizing luggage space, on the 14-meter vehicles.
Passenger amenities on the vehicles include seat-back tables, USB charging points throughout, a drinks machine and a central toilet.
Onboard entertainment is provided via the Bosch Smart Series audio-visual system with front and centre monitors.
An in-built vacuum cleaner and coach wash will keep the coaches immaculate while in use.
The Travellers Choice was founded in 1872 by Robert Shaw and today is one of the largest family owned and run coach operators in the North West, operated by brothers John and Mark Shaw.
