Second for Johnsons is super-luxury tri-axle
Johnson Bros’ second new Irizar of 2015 has been built to a luxurious and slightly unusual spec.
The July delivery was one of the first 13.2-metre, tri-axle super high i6 Integrals in the UK and Johnsons’ director, Lee Johnson, is thrilled with its appeal and early performance.
“We had this one put together to a higher spec with all the bells and whistles and it’s a fantastic vehicle,” he said.
Running on continental tours, the new i6 was designed with customers in mind. The toilet is floor-mounted rather than sunken next to the continental door, making it easier to access, and the PB seats are more deeply padded.
A Frenzel kitchen unit has been installed and power sockets and WiFi were considered a must for a coach destined for Johnson’s own tours. Stylish interior lighting completes the executive feel inside.
“Ultimately it’s our customers whose business enables us to buy new vehicles and so it’s important to invest in the fleet,” added Lee. “When it came in from the first run, I asked the driver for his opinion and he told me it was fantastic to drive, so everybody’s happy.”
The 53-seater is powered by a DAF MX11 340 engine, and has a ZF AS-Tronic gearbox.
