When buying a new coach, changing brands is a major decision!

West Sussex based Roadmark Travel has moved from Mercedes coaches to Irizar with this i6 Integral from Irizar UK.

The two-coach company which runs its own tours and excursions programme puts quality above quantity and says it was swayed to buy the DAF-engined 12.9-metre i6 not only by its looks but by its ability to accommodate 48 seats with class-leading legroom.

“We first saw the coach at EuroBus Expo at the NEC in 2012 and the first impressions were very good,” said David Coster, Roadmark’sRoadmark i6 integral Managing Director. “It looked very passenger friendly. So we went to the showroom in Worksop a few months later, had a test drive and went away liking the Irizar UK set-up, Steve and Ian.”

Having ordered their coach, Roadmark then went to the Irizar factory in Spain: “It is a fantastic factory and the staff all seemed focused on delivering a good product. That was very reassuring,” David added.

The Euro 5 vehicle has the DAF-Paccar MX300 engine and ZF’s AS-Tronic autoshift gearbox. The coach has a toilet, seatback tables, a reversing camera, additional marker lights, DVD system and was liveried by Irizar. Its first trip was to the Netherlands: “We got great feedback from the driver,” said David, whose company is a member of the Confederation of Passenger Transport and Coach Tourism Council.
