Peakes upgrades its i6
South Wales operator Peakes Coaches has upgraded its 2012 Irizar i6 integral with a 2014 model part-exchanged at Irizar UK.
The 44-vehicle operator, based in Pontypool, has opted for a 12.9-metre 53-seater which will work chiefly on Peakes’ own tour programme and on other tour work. The coach has DAF’s MX300 engine and ZF AS-Tronic auto-shift transmission. It features a twin LCD screen DVD system, Bosch audio equipment, and full climate control. It has a Spheros pre-heater to improve passenger comfort. The company has also opted for a reversing camera and warning horn, while the seats, with piped edging, feature magazine nets and cup holders.
Peakes runs a mixed fleet, around 12 of which are service buses and eight front-line coaches, with a broad range of work which includes home-to-school contracts.
