Catteralls praises new i4 Integral

Collecting its second Irizar Integral, with another on the way, Warwickshire operator Catteralls Coaches is convinced it’s buying into the right marque.catteralls-300px

“I have to say I’m very happy with the aftersales service we’ve had from Irizar UK,” said Paul Catterall, the owner and Managing Director of the Southam company. “We bought an i6 Integral last year, and on the odd occasion when we’ve had any issue, it’s chased up properly. It’s very important to an operator that there are mobile service technicians.”

Catteralls’ latest vehicle is a 12.9-metre, 70-seat i4 Integral, which Paul says is firmly targeted at local pick-ups and schools work. It is powered by DAF’s MX11 326bhp engine: “I’m very pleased with it and our customers like it, too. The seating leaves plenty of legroom.

“The coach spends most of its time with one of our drivers. We have specified the EcoLife automatic gearbox, though, in case we have a second driver – there’s no learning curve for someone unfamiliar with the vehicle.”

Catteralls’ i6 14-metre tri-axle, delivered in 2015, will be getting a sister at around Easter, when another of the iconic i6 Integral touring vehicles will join the fleet. Catteralls run a mix of private hire and contracts, and has a day trip programme.
