Capacity and versatility keeps Doig’s loyal to Irizar
Leading Scottish coach operator Doig’s of Glasgow has stayed loyal to Irizar (UK) with the arrival of two new Integral coaches for its fleet.
The coaches have replaced two older Irizars.
Director and transport manager Iain Forsyth explains: “These are like-for-like replacements. Irizar can supply a very versatile 57-seat vehicle with a toilet on two axles. This specification provides us with a coach equally capable of undertaking extended tour work or day hires.”
Doig’s runs over 30 vehicles, ranging from chauffeured luxury cars to 86-seat double-deckers, and has been in business for 27 years.
The latest coaches to be delivered by Irizar (UK) consist of a 12.2 m, 53-seat, two-axle i6, and a 12.9 m, two-axle, 57-seat i6.
Both coaches have identical drivelines, with economical DAF MX-11 271 369 hp engines driving ZF AS tronic 12-speed automated manual transmissions.
The luxurious i6 Plus seating in full leather in both coaches features seat-back tables, and other passenger amenities include Actia video and Bosch audio systems, and central sunken toilets plus kitchen areas with drinks machines.
Safety features include CCTV and security hammers with wiring and alarms.
Doig’s will maintain the two new Irizar Integrals in-house, and plans to keep them on the fleet for four years.
