Barnetts votes i6 the best choice
When Barnetts Coaches of Hertfordshire decided to invest in their first new coach, an i6 Integral from Irizar UK was the obvious choice.
The family-run company, now in its third generation, took great care in looking at all the options, says Director, Richard Barnett: “We looked at many other coaches but, for us, this was the best quality vehicle we saw.
“We’re very pleased with the service we have had and the delivery process. It is working on our own tour programme and has given us no problems.”
The 12.9-metre, two-axle luxury coach was delivered with 55 PB style seats, each with a seatback table and footrests, a centre, sunken toilet, two-monitor DVD system, reversing camera and alloy wheels. It has DAF’s PACCAR MX11 Euro 6 engine and ZF’s acclaimed AS-Tronic auto-shift gearbox.
Barnetts was founded by Richard’s grandfather during the war, in 1943, when work included taking evacuees from London to rural locations. It is now run by Richard and his daughters, and has ten vehicles, seven of which are full-sized coaches.
Barnetts launched its own tour programme relatively recently, and it has gathered its own momentum by word of mouth, now forming a significant part of the company turnover. Barnetts also has contracts with private schools and provides a private hire service around its base at Kings Langley.
