Aftersales swings decision to buy i6

Scottish operator Eve Coaches, of Dunbar, says a combination of the i6 integral’s ‘wow’ factor and a solid aftersales service swung its decision to buy one from Irizar UK.

The 12.9-metre 57-seater offered a perfect combination of capacity and good looks, says Managing Director Gary Scougall: “We had looked at the i6 integral many times, and decided that the seating option on the integral was better than a conventional chassis coach.

“We were also impressed with the level of professionalism demonstrated by Irizar UK, and when we visited the factory, Irizar Group’s staff also impressed us.”eve coaches i6

Now the i6 has been in service for a month, said Gary, he is more convinced than ever that the decision to buy from Irizar UK was the right one: “I have driven the vehicle myself on corporate work, on which I often find the passengers are inclined to take the coach for granted, but when they travelled on the i6, I had a number of very pleasing comments.”

Gary said the delivery process was very important: “We took on board the product training provided by Irizar UK, and found them extremely knowledgeable about the coach. Since then, any further information we have needed has been supplied straight away – this level of service is worth its weight in gold. The initial support has been phenomenal.”

Gary says the i6 – supplied with the PR265 DAF power unit and ZF Ecolife gearbox – has delivered fuel economy of around 11.5 mpg. Eve Coaches runs a mixed fleet of 20 coaches and buses in the often hilly terrain of East Lothian, south of Edinburgh
