West Coast Motors have placed an order for a further eight Irizar i6S Efficient coaches.
The new coaches will operate from Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow to Edinburgh Airport on Scottish Citylink’s AIR service.
At 14.07m and equipped with 57 i6 Plus seats, the vehicles are the first super high version (at 3.7m high beneath the a/c pod) to be ordered by the company and take advantage of the increased luggage capacity the higher coach offers.
West Coast Motors took its first Irizar Integral in 2022, an i6S at 12.9m. Since that date a further thirteen coaches have joined the fleet during 2023 and 2024. The new order will increase the Irizar Integral fleet size to twenty-two.
The coaches are expected to go into service at the start of May 2025.
Seven Irizar Integral i6S Efficient coaches were delivered to West Coast Motors recently in September 2024.
Six of the coaches were 14m standard height and the seventh a 12.9m. The coaches were branded dually as West Coast Motors and Scottish Citylink and have been put to work on the west coast of Scotland.
Within this delivery, Irizar UK marked the 700th Integral coach to be registered in the UK since its inception in 2011. 2024 is the most successful year to date for the importer with over 100 coaches expected to be delivered, with 2025 orders already surpassing this total.
