Irizar UK heads to Euro Bus Expo 2024, celebrating its most successful year to date.
With more vehicles delivered already in 2024 than previous full years, Irizar UK expect to deliver over 100 coaches to more than 35 operators.
Sales have been underpinned by success in fleet business (Ministry of Defence, First Bus), alongside the traditional retail SME operators many with repeat orders, which include Ellisons Travel Services, Golden Boy, Prospect, AAA, and West Coast Motors.
Relationships have also been forged with both Mistral Bus and Coach and Dawson Group, enabling operators to access the brand via operating leases and rental. Repeat orders with these companies have been secured for 2025 and beyond.
As one of the premium brands available in the UK market, the company are presenting four vehicles at Euro Bus Expo 2024.
The Irizar i8 remains one of the most impressive coaches on the road, offering a full gamut of design features. The 14.07m model displayed at the NEC is destined for Ellisons Travel Services and will be adapted by AD Coach Systems for football team duties. Currently it is equipped with 55 full leather seats with additional padding for the ultimate in comfort and style.
An i6S Efficient also features on the stand. One of a pair of coaches destined for Scottish operator AAA of Livingstone. Over 50 of the new model have now been delivered since launch in 2022, with many positive reviews on fuel consumption improvements. The displayed coach is shown as a 55 seat over 12.9m.
Positioned in the outside display area is an i4 12.9m to school specification and featuring 70 seats in a 3+2 layout. Fully PSVAR, the coach has a Masats wheelchair lift positioned in the stairwell of the nearside central passenger door. The coach is one of a pair that will be delivered after to expo to Hills Coaches of Wolverhampton.
Completing the line-up of vehicles is a fully-electric 100% zero emission ie Tram from Irizar e-Mobility, destined for duties on Kent Fastrack with Go-Ahead Group.
Since the beginning of this year, the company has been delivering its new generation of electric buses to its clients. The new generation has improvements in safety and security and follows the new GSR2 ADAS regulations that also include vehicle cybersecurity.
It also has a renewed generation of batteries with lower consumption and a longer range that improves the energy available to BOL and EOL by 30%. The new drive system, with a lighter and more compact design, reduces weight up to 26% and also includes a new digital HMI that allows maximum personalisation.
The new Efficient generation: with even greater efficiency
Commencing production from September 2024 for deliveries from later this year comes the latest range of integral efficient vehicles that surpass the improvements already seen and offer an additional reduction of consumption of up to 5%.
The new generation also meets all of the requirements the GSR2 and cybersecurity (R155 and R156) standards.
The improved line of vehicles focuses on efficiency and safety and has a new cockpit with new steering wheel, updated keys and a new version of the dashboard with an updated design and the option to select night mode for driving. At the same time a new HMI for the Irizar i8 and i6S models come with a renewed design and a more ergonomic and adapted integration of driver needs. In addition, the digital camera mirror system available for this range provides better visibility in any weather conditions.
The first example of a latest generation i6S Efficient is expected in the coming weeks and will be presented in greater detail at this time.
