Whittles Coaches based in Kidderminster has taken delivery of its second Irizar Integral, a triaxle i6S Efficient.

Operations Manager, Shaun Stanton commented “We would like to thank Irizar UK, for providing our new coach. Yet again another smooth transaction from start to finish. Stuart was fantastic and kept us up to speed with the progress of our vehicle.”

At 14m long, the new coach is equipped with 63 passenger seats, and each seat features magazine nets, seat-back tables, and USB connectivity.

Entertainment is provided by a Bosch smart system DAB radio, CD player and pa coupled to Actia twin flat screen monitors to the front and centre of the coach.

Other passenger amenities also include a toilet located in the central stairwell and an onboard drinks machine fitted next to the courier seat.

The new efficient coach features DAFs smoothly efficient MX11 330kw engine, with an output of 449hp, coupled to, ZF’s Ecolife Coachline 6-speed fully automatic gearbox.

A Masat semi-automatic wheelchair lift has been installed above the rear axle of the coach to maximise luggage capacity whilst complying with PSVAR standards. The vehicle is fitted with Hanover destination equipment, giving clear concise information in bright white light.

Shaun continued. “The first 63-seater to join our fleet and it hasn’t stopped working since taking delivery in early March and has just returned from enjoying snow in Italy!

Thanks to all the team, we look forward to doing more business in the future.”

Whittles Coaches have been in operation for almost 100 years since the company set up business taking miners from their villages to the pits.

Today, Whittles Coaches is owned by Johnsons Coach Travel after it was purchased by the group in 2015 and specialises in coach travel, operating a small fleet of vehicles to undertake its day trip and coach holiday programmes.
