The 12.9-metre, two-axle coach joined the tour fleet with the PBs and has already impressed the drivers, the customers and Operations Manager Ian Davis: “We’ve not had the slightest problem with it since it arrived,” he said.

“It’s well-liked and I’ve driven it myself – it’s nice to drive. Image is important to us, especially for the tour fleet, and the i6 is a very modern-looking coach.”

Ian says the key purchasing decision was based on Irizar UK’s reputation for aftersales service: “That is every operator’s biggest worry – losing a vehicle from the fleet for days. From what we have seen and heard about the back-up we decided to buy from Irizar UK.”

The i6 has DAF’s PR265 engine and a ZF AS-Tronic auto-shift gearbox. It has 53 PB style seats, a toilet, twin DVD monitors, reversing camera and seatback tables.

Yeomans Travel runs mixed work, including stage carriage which utilises its 25 Optare Solos. It runs National Express diagrams and its own holiday programme. Headquartered in Hereford, it also has a sister company in Leominster.
