Five for Swans fleet
Greater Manchester-based Swans Travel reports almost faultless performance for five Irizar i6 Integrals sourced from Irizar UK.
The Oldham company had five 12.9-metre i6s delivered this spring, including a DDA-compliant wheelchair-accessible variant with 55 seats. “From the start, we were impressed with the capacity of these two-axle vehicles,” said Kieran Swindells, the Managing Director at Swans Travel. “But since we got them, we have also been impressed with the back-up from Irizar UK and DAF. They are the first DAFs we’ve owned.”
The 57-seaters have given excellent service with no breakdowns, said Kieran. They have been workhorses of Swans’ 25-vehicle fleet, run on a broad range of work from private hire to tour contracts.
The wheelchair-accessible vehicle is of great importance to the fleet, said Kieran. Swans now has four DDA-compliant coaches and he says the company gets regular requests for wheelchair accessibility from corporate and private customers alike.
Swans is reporting its best year ever, with growth on target to match or beat the 22% turnover growth it achieved last year, he says.
