Supporting our industry – Template letters to raise awareness
You do not need us to tell you how hard our industry has been hit by the current coronavirus crisis, which has seen most operators across the country forced to park their fleets up. We at Irizar UK want to help as much as possible.
Coach operators have been hit hardest of all by the crisis with incoming tourism traffic, education, commuting and holidays, tours, excursions and virtually all forms of group travel effectively banned through social distancing measures.
We must weather this storm together. Coach operators pride themselves on their self-sufficiency and ability to do business without Government help in normal times, but these times are anything but normal.
So, the time has come for us all to contact our own MPs, plus the Chancellor of the Exchequer, to ask for some temporary help. We have produced two draft letters for you to send on your own letterheads, to your MP and the Chancellor, outlining the grave crisis facing our industry now.
Here’s all you have to do.
We have created two draft letters (both in a word.docx format): one for your MP and one for the Chancellor of the Exchequer. You can either copy these directly over your own letter heading and signature, or draft your own letter along similar lines but personalised to your company’s circumstances.
You can find out who your MP is and how to reach him by post or email by using the following website. All you have to do is enter your postcode.
Note, as Parliament is closed, contact is probably best made through the MP’s constituency office.
You can contact the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Right Honourable Rishi Sunak MP, via firstname.lastname@example.org
Or by post to 11 Downing Street, London W1A 1AA.
