Olympia comes back for another i6 Integral

Wigan-based operator Olympia Travel UK returned to Irizar UK for its latest fleet addition – another 12.9-metre i6 Integral coach, this time in Grand UK livery.

Olympia Travel’s fleet intake last year included its first i6 Integral, in Just Go! Livery for its contracted tour work with the Cheltenham-based company. A year on, it has taken delivery of a second, a two-axle 53-seater which Director Shaun Lewis says ticks all the ‘optional extras’ boxes in its standard form.Olympia front-001

“With some coaches, you have to add in extra to get many items which come as standard on the i6 Integral,” said Shaun, who runs the company with his brother Michael. “Overall, the i6 Integral is great value for money.”

Shaun says the i6s have proven popular with drivers and customers, and seem to be delivering excellent fuel economy. The latest vehicle has a loo, DVD, reversing camera and reversing alarm, drinks machine and air conditioning. It is equipped with DAF’s Paccar MX300 engine and a ZF AS-Tronic auto-shift gearbox.

Olympia Travel was established by Shaun and his father Joe, who sadly passed away four years ago. Shaun and Michael are now at the helm of the 27-vehicle operation, with their sons as engineers for the company and Shaun’s wife taking the wheel of a yellow school bus – a truly family-run enterprise.

Olympia Travel runs nine touring coaches on a variety of contracted tour work, private and corporate hire, in addition to schools contracts.
