J & K Coaches of Moneymore have recently taken delivery of two Irizar Integral i6S Efficient coaches. The latest fleet additions will be in service with the operator’s corporate hire clients and on the company’s international tour programme.
Jim Quinn, Director of J&K Coaches comments on his recent experience with Irizar UK:
“Throughout my 20 years in business, I had never been personally invited to visit a coach manufacturer’s production facility. So, when Irizar extended the opportunity to tour their factory near San Sebastián, I eagerly accepted.
This visit played a key role in my decision to invest in two of their latest coaches, primarily due to Irizar’s strong focus on sustainability. These coaches are designed to be significantly more environmentally friendly, reducing fuel consumption and emissions by up to 13%. With a 30% lower aerodynamic coefficient and a weight reduction of up to 950kg, they deliver greater efficiency. Constructed using high-strength steel and lightweight composite materials, they offer the ideal combination of durability and performance. Additionally, the Hispacold climate control system enhances passenger comfort while being more efficient, compact, and lightweight.”
At 12.9 metres in length, the two coaches seat up to 53 passengers on full leather i6 Plus seats with extra padded wings. Each passenger benefits from seat-back tables and multi-position footrests for comfort and convenience. USB charging points are supplied to each pair of seats.
The driver and courier seats are trimmed to match the saloon in full leather for style and durability.
On board entertainment is provided by the Bosch Smart Series audio-visual systems fitted to both vehicles along with a 22” monitor fitted in the front of the saloon. The coaches also feature wi-fi connectivity to keep passengers connected on the move.
The coaches are powered by a DAF MX11 270kw, OBD-E euro 6 engine, with an output of 367hp, driving through the sophisticated ZF Traxon automated manual gearbox.
Both coaches were supplied with livery and mid-tint privacy glass.
