Irizar (UK) service wins Hearn’s Coaches over to DAF-engined Integral
The established quality of Irizar bodywork together with the excellent reputation of DAF engines and the promise of individual customer support and service has led Hearn’s Coaches of North-West London to order a new i6 Integral to join its large fleet.
Hearn’s was established in 1947 by the grandfather of current director Jamie Thacker, and specialises in corporate, private-hire and schools work. The 12.9-metre i6 Integral has 57 seats and is destined for corporate work.
Passenger amenities include seat-back tables, a drinks machine and toilet, together with a DVD player and monitors.
Safety features include three-point seat belts, a reversing alarm and camera, and additional rear marker lights. DAF’s advanced MX-11 271 engine with an output of 370 hp drives through a ZF EcoLife automatic transmission. The Irizar i6 Integral is the first-ever DAF-engined coach to go into service with the operator.
“We’ve been running Irizar-bodied vehicles since the early 2000s, and think they are a very well-built, luxury-quality vehicle,” Jamie says.
“We’ve got used to Irizar quality, and chose an Integral vehicle with a DAF driveline given other operators’ experiences, and the individual approach that Irizar (UK) has to customer service.
“We are particularly impressed by the way that Irizar will send a qualified coach engineer directly out to you if problems are encountered.”
The coach will be maintained in-house by the operator.
