Irizar UK Is Moving Forward With New Powertrain Technologies
This year’s Euro Bus Expo, held at The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Birmingham from 30th October to 1st November, will see Irizar UK showcase three of its latest coaches on Stand A10, all featuring new Euro 6 engines and intelligent ZF transmission systems.
At Euro Bus Expo 2018, Irizar UK will offer much more than great looking coaches. A new range of Paccar-DAF MX11 and MX13 Euro 6 engines are perfectly optimised with ZF transmission systems, meaning coaches deliver everything customers need for 21st century passenger operations. The new powertrain technologies mean customers can look forward to greater fuel efficiency, longer service intervals, lower running costs and increased comfort levels for both drivers and passengers.
On display, in a specially designed show livery will be an Irizar i8, an Irizar i6S destined for Whites of St Albans, and an Irizar i6 from stock. All three Irizar UK coaches displayed will feature comprehensive Safety Packs that include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning Systems, Active Emergency Braking System and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. The trio also debut Irizar’s new, exclusive virtual dashboard display. Braking on the group is via three point ZF intarders and ventilated disc brakes, whilst Koni four point shock absorbers and Vibracoustic air bellow systems deliver the suspension systems. Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels shod with Continental 295/80 R-22.5 tyres are present on all three vehicles.
The14.07m Irizar i8 seats 55 passengers and is powered by a new DAF MX13 Euro 6 engine, producing 530hp. This power plant drives a 12-speed Traxon automated manual transmission system with predictive shifting control. Rounding off the powertrain is a ZF drive axle with a ratio of 2.93:1. Inside, three point seat belts, magazine nets and USB chargers complement Irizar i8 seating with horizontal trim, extra padding and wings.
A 10.78m 39 seat, Irizar i6S for Whites of St Albans is powered by DAF’s MX11 Euro 6 engine delivering 367hp and 1,900Nm of Torque. ZF’s Ecolife six-speed transmission and drive axle with a ratio of 4.7:1 complete the powertrain. Synthetic trim i6plus seats include soft trimmed backs, three point seat belts and four position footrests.
Last but not least on the stand, is an Irizar UK stock i6 57-seat 12.92m coach featuring DAF’s MX11 Euro 6 engine rated at 408hp. This unit includes Predictive Cruise Control and drives a ZF Ecolife six-speed transmission. A ZF drive axle comes with a ratio of 4.7:1. Moquette trim i6 seats include back tables and three point seatbelts.
On the concourse, outside the show’s main entrance, will be an i6S 53-seat 12.92m coach with a DAF MX11 Euro 6 engine rated at 408hp. The coach, due to be registered as a demonstrator after the show, includes the new ZF Traxon 12 speed automated manual transmission with Predictive Shift Control, working with Predictive Cruise Control.
