Irizar Integral Luxury Traveller coaches signal an exciting re-start for Johnsons of Henley-in-Arden
Johnsons Coaches of Henley-in-Arden is celebrating the end of lockdown with two new top-of-the-range Irizar i8 Integral coaches for its Luxury Traveller holiday programme.
Luxury Traveller holidaymakers enjoy four-star hotel accommodation at a range of beautiful destinations, and the two new coaches reflect this with an increase in quality and comfort above even the standard offered by Johnsons ‘Club Class’ vehicles.
The accent is on comfort and spaciousness. Johnson’s new 14.07-metre tri-axle Irizar i8 Integrals have just 43 luxury half-leather seats fitted, with calf rests, footrests and aircraft-style seat-back tables. The saloon itself is fully-carpeted, as is the luggage compartment.
There is a central WC, and an extended central servery with an AD Coach Systems water boiler.
A vacuum cleaner is installed to aid the crew in keeping the coach interior clean on tour, and passenger safety is ensured by seat-belts on all seating and a Fogmaker fire suppression system. Externally, there is a cant-rail floodlighting system.
Johnsons Coaches has commissioned a new livery exclusively for the Luxury Traveller programme , which is enhanced by privacy glass for the saloon.
A powerful DAF MX-13 355 483 hp engine drives through an advanced ZF Traxon 12-speed automated gearbox. ZF’s premium-quality axles, steering and suspension systems are also standard across the Irizar Integral range, ensuring the best-possible passenger comfort and safety.
John Johnson said: “We are very pleased to at last take delivery of these vehicles, and as ever delighted with the service and support we have received from Irizar. We appreciate their patience in holding on to the vehicles while we endured the Covid crisis.
“Their arrival at our premises signals an exciting start of a return to normality after Covid. The generous seat spacing we specified means that the coaches can operate to more or less full capacity while respecting social-distancing guidelines.
“We already have a busy Summer programme of UK tours and holidays planned, and are looking forward to the return of foreign travel next year.”
