Galleon’s third is a Rally winner!
The third i6 Integral coach for Galleon Travel made its way straight to the UK Coach Rally – and scooped two of the cups.
The 57-seat tri-axle follows two others into the fleet – a two-axle i6 in 2012 and a tri-axle last year. As with last year’s vehicle, it features a whole host of upgrades and a factory-applied livery which, says Galleon’s Director Helen Bowden, is winning business.
“It really has the ‘wow’ factor and, like last year’s coach, is ensuring people know who we are. We went back to Irizar UK because the coaches are excellent and their customer service has been good. The coach is a fleet upgrade, for which we part-exchanged an ’09 vehicle.”
The top-spec tourer has a toilet, drinks machine, and seats with leather headrests and bolsters, seatback tables and footrests. Additionally, Galleon has specified USB sockets to all seats for customers to keep phones and other devices topped up, DVD and two monitors, and a wood-effect floor. CCTV and reversing camera with alarm together with Xenon headlamps give drivers peace of mind.
At the UK Coach Rally, the coach left with the trophies for Best Irizar Integral and for Best Co-ordinated Decor. Galleon has 11 front-line coaches run almost exclusively on long-distance tour work, which requires class-leading luggage capacity. Indeed, within days of leaving the UK Coach Rally, the new coach was on a battlefield tour to Ypres in Belgium.
