First i6 midicoach is a success
When Essex-based Kings Coaches looked to replace its midicoach, there was only one choice – the 10.8-metre i6 Integral.
Having run many DAF-based coaches, proprietor Andrew Cousins said nothing else matched the company’s needs: “We needed a rear continental door and toilet, and the i6 10.8 was the only option.
“But having said that, we’ve been really pleased with the coach. It’s already been to Normandy with a private group and is now in Paignton, and the driver is very impressed,” he said. “We opted for the MX11 291 400bhp engine, and the coach is really nippy.”
The vehicle is equipped with ZF’s fully-auto Ecolife gearbox, and has a number of driving and safety aids, such as a road camera and range of electronic extras. Inside, it has 34 i6+ seats with embroidered seat numbers, magazine nets and seatback tables. It has been fitted with a servery at the rear and is fully carpeted.
“One of our customers said she particularly appreciated the low step heights, which made it very easy for her to board.”
Kings Coaches of Colchester is a family-run company in its third generation. It has a fleet of seven luxury coaches, and has a mix of business including its own tours, tour contracts and private hire.
