Affordable luxury wins Plants over to Irizar
Stoke-on-Trent operator Plants Luxury Travel has replaced an older 41-seater coach with a luxurious new Irizar Integral i6S.
Manager Gemma Plant said that while Irizar had been the preferred option, Plants hoped that the Irizar Integral product would be within reach: “When we looked at the total ownership costs, including the residuals, we quickly realised that it was viable,” she said.
A visit to Irizar UK’s Worksop headquarters to view a similar coach confirmed that the i6S was the correct choice, an order was placed, and, Gemma Plant says: “We were then invited on a factory visit which only reaffirmed that we had made the correct decision.
“The coach was delivered on time, to the exact specification ordered, and throughout the process we were kept fully updated with the coach’s progress.
“The superb service hasn’t stopped since delivery as Richard, one of the service engineers, spent a day with us going through everything on the coach, which is supplemented with the excellent on-line information package. The coach itself has exceeded all expectations and passengers and drivers absolutely love it. An unexpected bonus has been the fuel consumption figures which have exceeded all our expectations.”
Plant’s new 10.8 m i6S features a luxurious interior specification, including wood-effect flooring, blue floor-lighting, leather armrests and synthetic leather piping, headrests and laterals on the 41 passenger seats, USB charging points, and a rear floor-mounted toilet.
Other equipment includes Bosch Smart Series Audio, Actia video, and a drinks machine, together with a vacuum-cleaner and cant-rail lighting.
Power is provided by the advanced DAF MX-11 270 367 hp engine driving through ZF’s advanced EcoLife automatic transmission.
