Fourth i6 added to Truemans fleet
Having bought three i6 12.9-metre, two-axle coaches in 2013, Hampshire-based Truemans Coach Hire has added a fourth.
All four coaches are identical specification, with DAF’s PR265 Euro 5 engine, driving through the renowned ZF AS-Tronic auto-shift gearbox. Truemans upgraded the 53 seats to the PB version, which can be side-shifted into the aisle space for additional passenger space.
“We are very pleased with our i6s, which have lovely interiors, look the part and drive very well,” said Managing Director Richard Trueman. “They are also reasonably priced but above all I like the ethos of aftersales service at Irizar UK. Upgrading to the PB seats has been a good move for the comfort of our passengers.”
Truemans has had the coaches factory-painted in its stunning livery, and they come with a reversing camera as part of the already high, standard specification which includes a two-screen DVD system, dash-mounted fridge and toilet and additional marker lights.
In the pipeline for Truemans are also three i4 low-height coaches with 57 seats – a specification which Truemans uses for its schools work and transfers which don’t require the massive luggage space of i6 or a toilet. More than half of Truemans’ fleet of 13 coaches will then have been supplied by Irizar UK.
Truemans Coach Hire, based in Aldershot, runs an extensive programme of its own tours, corporate and private hire: “The season is shaping up well,” said Richard. “I hope we can match the performance last year, which was our best ever.”
